Yearlong adoption adventure in China for NW Denver family

In 2012, Johanna Garton and her husband Ernie moved their family to China, the birthplace of their two adopted children.  She chronicled events of that yearlong adventure in her memoir "Awakening East," published in October 2015.

"We wanted to go back to China to explore where the children were born, and what their background might have been like," said Garton. "We visited my daughter's foster family and my son's orphanage, so the kids would have a little more of their story."
